The original Disneyland opened in 1955 in California, Walt had an idea after taking his girls to a local park and watching them ride on a merry go round, added to the hundreds of letters he got from fans wanting to visit Disneys studios, the theme park was invented. Home of the first ever ferris wheel and the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, the park now consists of two theme parks with even further expansion plans set for 2012.

With three different themed on-site hotels its a “must visit” park for anyone passing through the west coast of America.
