Northern Lights

The Northern Lights or “Aurora Borealis” is an amazing natural light display that occurs in thesky above the poles of the earth, to simplify the particle physics behind the phenomenon, the magnetic forces of the earth pull solar winds into our atmosphere and when these forces hit each other they give off a glow (something like that).
They are visable in a number of places on Earth the closer to the arctic / antarctic circle you get the better – Tromso in Norway is one of the easiest places to get to, and it is best viewed between October and March.
Other activities include dog sledging, glacier climbing and snowmobiling, a real winter wonderland dream.
